McDaniel Farm Park offers a striking change of scale from the commercial landscape around it. Gwinnett County’s account follows a former cotton farm owned by the McDaniel family from 1859 to 1999, now preserved within a 134-acre public park.
The historic area interprets a typical 1930s Gwinnett farm, with a furnished farmhouse, barn, blacksmith shed, carriage house and tenant house. Those buildings invite questions about labor and daily life as well as the family whose name remains on the property.

Two entrances make planning useful. The historic entrance is at 3251 McDaniel Road; the park entrance at 3020 McDaniel Road serves amenities including a farm-themed playground, dog park area and pavilion. Paved and unpaved routes connect the areas, and the county lists three miles of trails.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset unless otherwise posted, while historic access and programming have separate arrangements. Check current information before expecting an interior tour. For an unhurried visit, choose either the farm story or a walk as the main purpose, then add the other if time and conditions allow. Looking closely at an ordinary outbuilding can reveal as much as a grander landmark.
